I love all Mrs. Meyers product and think the basil scent is so dreamy, so when I saw there was a candle in the same scent I squeezed my wallet a bit and went for it! I was so disappointed the first time I burned it because I literally cannot smell the scent at all. I have a few other room freshening candles around the house and I like them because even when they're not burning if you're close you can still catch a whiff of the scent (that's the whole purpose, right??). But with this one you have to have the candle right up to your face to smell the basil scent at all, and when it burns the scent is non-existant. Such a bummer.

I was waiting for a special occasion to burn this candle and I'm glad I did. It has the same great Basil scent as all the other products.
The only thing I would change would be the packaging design. It looks great in the kitchen but I would love some votives or a more sleek jar to use in other rooms of the house that coordinate with my interiors.

I was given this candle as a housewarming gift along with the room spray. At first, I thought "Basil?, thanks but no thanks". I decided one day to light it and left it on my kitchen counter. What a nice surprise! I LOVE the scent. Like the other reviewer said, you have to be around it to smell it, but it does smell good. Even when I didn't have it lit, I would walk by and could smell the scent.

Just costs' way too much for the smell you get. You have to literally be beside it or leaned over trying to smell it to get the scent. For [$] I expected my room to at least smell like the candle but it never did.
