Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day partners with Whole Planet Foundation

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day is pleased to announce its participation in Whole Planet Foundation’s “Poverty is Unnecessary Fund” for 2010-2011. The mission of this foundation is to provide microcredit loans and create partnerships with the poor in those developing-world communities that supply product to Whole Foods stores.

Some facts about Whole Planet Foundation:

  • The foundation is active in 21 different countries where Whole Foods Market sources products
  • The foundation has supplied more than 94,000 microcredit loans, supporting more than 470,000 people
  • The average loan size is $178 in the developing world, with a 98% repayment rate
  • Whole Planet Foundation has committed more than $11,000,000 in funds to help women

During the month of October 2010, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day donated $0.10 of every Honeysuckle Liquid Dish Soap and Countertop Spray sale to Whole Planet Foundation. In addition, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day made a $25,000 donation, providing expansion funds for new microlending projects.

Whole Planet Foundation Visits Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day

Whole Planet Foundation and local Whole Foods Representatives visited Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day on Tuesday, January 25th. Whole Planet Co-Chairman Lee Valkenaar gave an informative and enlightening overview of the foundation. Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day then invited our visitors to learn more about our products and scents. During a tour of our lab, they were invited to mix up their own Countertop Spray in their favorite scent.
