Believe it or not, Mrs. Meyer is a real person. You see, I’m Thelma Meyer and my daughter, Monica started Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day to create straight-forward, honest cleaners, that honor my old-fashioned values. They smell good and work like the dickens on dirt. We have something to clean every nook and cranny in your home as well as to keep you and your little ones clean and fresh. I use all the products around my home in Iowa as well as my trailer in Arizona, where my husband Vern and I go to escape those chilly Iowa winters.
I just wish I had these products back in the day. While keeping up my own home for over 40 years and raising 9 children in the process, I’ve had my fair share of dirt, grime, spills and fingerprints. These products made with essential oils, garden-fresh flowers and herbs, sure would have taken the chore out of cleaning! They are tough on even the dirtiest of dirt, and aromatherapeutic – which is just a fancy way of saying they smell nice and make you feel good while you clean. So, the mess suffers, but you don’t. What could be better than that?

Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day philosophy is to make straightforward, honest cleaners that smell good and work like the dickens on dirt. All of our cleaning products are made with natural essential oils, are biodegradable and packaged in recyclable materials, and we never test on animals.

At Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day, our employees are our number one asset. We strive to maintain an appropriate work / life balance to ensure our employees are happy and enjoy coming to work each day.
In-office work functions to celebrate successes are common, as are informal, monthly town hall meetings.
When appropriate, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day works with employees to allow telecommuting, alternate work schedules, compressed work weeks and part-time schedules, helping to provide flexibility in this ever changing world.
Of course we also believe employees should have opportunities away from work to relax and rejuvenate so Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day offers a competitive Paid Time Off plan to assist with meeting our employees' time off needs. Employees also benefit from summer hours from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Summer is short in Minnesota and we want to ensure our team has the ability to enjoy a few extra hours of sunlight.
The Environment
At Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day, we feel it is important to go beyond making earth-friendly products. We’re committed to using earth-friendly practices and have instituted them at our home office to protect and care for the environment.
Green Team: We’ve instituted a cross department team to help us address key environmental issues and execute green initiatives both at work and at home. Their goal is to inform, encourage and support employees in our quest to become a more sustainable and earth-friendly organization. Together we will challenge ourselves to be Better Than Yesterday. No goal is too small and positive change is accessible with each step.
Paper reduction: We use electronic communication whenever possible. If paper is necessary, we use recycled-content paper. We reuse paper for printing as much as we can.
Gas usage reduction: A number of employees choose to walk, ride bike, take public transportation, or carpool to work.
Beginning in 2008, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day adopted a 4 block section of the Midtown Greenway bike trail. The Greenway is used year-round, plowed for winter bikers.
As a special holiday gift, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day plants a tree for each employee.
Our Products
Are Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day products free of chemicals and preservatives? Honestly, “chemical-free” is an impossible claim to make. Water is a chemical, air is a chemical, essential oils are chemicals and much of the world as we know it is a configuration of various carbon chains.
We want our products to be at their optimum freshness and safety throughout their useful lifetime, so we use a minimal amount of synthetic preservatives to accomplish this — in fact, less than one percent. Contact with contaminated product could be much more harmful than exposure to low levels of preservatives.
Our fragrance compositions use a combination of natural essential oils and safe synthetic ingredients. This allows for the most pleasing, quality, and intriguing scents – inspired by the garden - that you’ll want to use again and again. This approach provides consistent performance, quality, and safety in every bottle. All fragrances are phthalate-free.
